About Westheads

HomepagePix1About us.
With a qualified, motivated and skilled workforce the company excels in providing specialised steel fabrications in the North West and Wales business area.

Corporate History.
The company has grown since its formation in 1980 with the set up of a small dedicated team headed by Mr L Westhead as company director gaining work with various satisfied clients from the retail, leisure and construction industries. With our low rotation of skilled staff, customer satisfaction has been one of the companies’ main aims to procure repeat business. Up until 1995 the company had a high proportion of trade within the retail industry but with company take-overs within our customer base, work within this area was cut back by these companies as a much leaner era was encompassed and the company moved to a much healthier construction industry.

With skilled and experienced staff moving up through the company to take up important positions such as contracts manager, company secretary, draughtsman and fabrication manager, Mr Westhead senior retired in 2000 handing the company over to his son and daughter in law who have continued to encourage and nurture the philosophy implemented by Mr Westhead.

Industry Overview.
With our customer base moving more towards a buoyant construction industry and away from a very lean and competitive retail industry, the home leisure industry is showing no increase in trade, although recently CADimprovements have been made in certain aspects of this industry. Westhead Welding have secured some interesting contracts of a supply and fit nature to Switzerland and supply only contracts to Dubai for one leisure company diversifying into other areas.

Technology.
Our new acquisition of CAD capabilities will keep the technical side of our skills within the company under closer control, thus helping to provide our clients with delivery of the best product available.
